I need some help. My battery light on my civic flickers. ive tried to narrow down when it flickers but its kind of random. It comes on more when im driving at hight speeds.(This is not true all the time). At night my headlights sometimes go dim and then madd bright and then dim then bright(etc) I just recently put in a new distributer, new alternantor and nea battery. I checked the voltage on the battery and the alternator and all come out fine. And also my radio sound doesnt come on. When im listening to music the sounds just stops but the radio display is still on. It then comes back on and disappears. What can be the problem?

Check that the alternator belt is tight. Check that the connections at the battery and alternator are tight. Check that the ground wire from battery (-) is securely connected to both the frame and the engine/transmission.
The radio problem is probably not related. Most likely it is one of your speakers or the wiring. A short in any speaker wire will shut down the amplifier in the radio and all 4 speakers will quit playing.

I second the alt belt is not tight.. mine did that last week and the bold was loose so the belt was slipping

I must also chime in regarding the alt belt although it squeals like crazy when it is too loose. at least that was true in my case.

so i forgot to post what the problem was. i thought i was the alternator also but it wasnt. my check engine light came on and stayed on so i checked the code. it blink only 4 times. i forgot what the code was exactly for..but i know it was something in my distributer. so i just got a new distributer and the car has been fine now.
