Engine & Internal - TYPE R PISTON IN TO B18A BLOCK?View Full Version : TYPE R PISTON IN TO B18A BLOCK? JDMB16CIVIC 08-13-2004, 07:35 AM WILL INTEGRA TYPE R PISTONS FIT DIRRECTLY INTO A B18A (90' TEG BLOCK)? 2000Si 08-13-2004, 11:51 AM The A1 and C5 blocks have the same bore (81 mm) so I don't know why it wouldn't. You'd get some mad compression though. sacicons 08-13-2004, 12:02 PM as far as i know, they will fit, but, check into the compression. also, dont do this if you are planning on using the ls head, i assume this is for the ls vtec project youve been asking about, if so then go for it, but the valve pockets in the type r pistons are located wrong for a non-vtec head and they will hit the valves. if you are using the vtec head, then it should be okay. 2000Si 08-13-2004, 09:43 PM I know compression will be bumped up. but to what, I don't know. the ITR c5s stroke is 87.2 mm and the A1 block has a stroke of 89 mm. There's a calculator out there somewhere but it's inaccurate at best. |
