The Lounge - finally got my gps

now my bimmer is also equipped with GPS. I recommend buying this to anyone with a laptop. Go for Earthmate GPS. Their mapping program has voice turn by turn directions and voice recognition.

i am all for gadgets, but i dont see the point of GPS, other than "look, I have GPS"...
i dont know if i would ever actually use it..and i travel quite a bit...

once you start using it, you find all sorts of uses. a lot of them have features like entering that you want the closest McDonalds, and it will throw that into your route. its saved us a lot of wandering looking for a gas station or whatever.

well this will definately replace yahoo maps for me, and I used it a lot. And like the other guy said, you could use it to find restaurants, camp grounds, gas stations, ski resorts, golf courses, etc.

Oh yeah, and I do want to mount the laptop in my car, but I'm still trying to figure out where to put it and how to mount it. I also want to be able to remove it at will, since I'll need it in college (dvd player :D)
