Default low rpm break up.

Hi guys,
i have a 1997 honda civic dx. i bought the car with a d16z6 that i found out had thrown a rod. i swapped in a d16y8 out of a 98 ex. the car also came with the p28 ecu for the z6 but had a jumper on it. after some research i see that the z6 had a obd2a harness. the y8 i bought came with a harness and i am using that one right now.

so, at low revs the motor breaks up real bad and falls on its face. but as revs build the motor becomes much smoother and puts the power down. almost like the car is running rich, but its the stock fuel regulator and stock injectors. i have tested the map, idle air, and throttle pos. but they all check out. the only thing i can think of is using the harness that was on the z6 motor. any advice or help pleaaaase let me know.

okso, i went the junkyard, got a p2p ecu out of an automatic. the car runs much better. theidle can still be weird sometimes with load on it but i think thats because its an auto ecu. so in my experience a stock p28 will not run a stock y8.
