To check for bad timing belt, take the oil cap off, watch inside the valve cover while someone turns the key to crank. If the rocker arms don't move, timing belt is bad and possible valve damage. Probably still a good deal at that price though.

Good idea guys. I'll check it. Also i have an '88 D15 in my Civic and i was wondering if the distributor fom it would fit the D16 V-tech in the 95 Civic.

Also i think it might actually be a 96... i didn't think they had the ex in '95

Grr crap. Will the ignition coild swap from my D15 to the D16? I gotta do some probing and see if it isn't getting power to the distributor. I worked on the car a lil b4 and i put a scew driver in plug wire and held it off the valve cove to see if it would arch. And it didn't. I'll check the main relay too. Any other clues to what it could be? I'm hoping fo something small... but that isn't my luck.

Also can anyone tell me more about the EX?

The 92 - 95 EX vs. other (non-VTEC) distributors are the same inside, the difference is in the mounting hole pattern because the heads are different.

The coil and other parts from the 92-95 system will not interchange with 88-91.

Alright. Thanks for the info. So i couldn't use my '88 non vtech distributor for anything inside of the '95 Vtech distributor.

Any clues or tips to how to determin if it is infact the distributor? I wanna get the car going as my daily driver before i start modifying it. My current '88 has bad rings and valve seals:/ and the body is crap.
