'96 EX help
I need help with my sister's '96 EX automatic. It's started acting funny while cruising at highway speeds, above 50mph or so. It's generally fine, but every once in a while, for a few seconds, it will "shudder". Doesn't feel like an engine hesitation, although I'm sure it could be. It shifts greats through all the gears, both when accelerating normally and when accelerating aggressively. With no light and thus no codes I'm at a loss where to start diagnosing. Any ideas?
I did read the TSB #99068, which is in reference to "103100 power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm)". It states "Vehicle may experience surges while driving at highway speeds with the engine running between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm" which is basically what the car is doing.
I don't believe there's a separate controller for the tranny, so I'm guessing this is referencing the pcm, the main computer, correct?
Anyone have any idea how to tell if the main computer is going bad and/or what symptoms it might show?
Any other ideas that could help me out would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

RE: '96 EX help
I just looked over my Haynes manual for the 96-00 civics. I dont see anything about a separate control unit. It looks to me from the schematics that everything is run through the ECU/PCM. I might be wrong, I dont think I am, but someone else please let him know if I am. Hope it helps.
::SIDE NOTE::
I had to change out teh ECU and TCU on my 90 LX Accord twice(after I got if flooded twice in a year). I was able to find them on EBAY for under $30 shipped. Also They are not hard to put in at all. PM me if you need help on changing it out.
