Question regarding 99-00 Civic Si fog lights on 1999 Civic LX
Hey Guys,
New poster here. I have read the DIY thread regarding these fog lights, and the install procedure for them. I do have one question regarding the install though...
I have a 1999 Civic LX, which didn't come with fog lights stock. I was wondering what issues I would run in to (if any) when going about installing them since they didn't come as on option from the factory.
I appreciate everyone's input on this install, and any tips/tricks from others who have done this before would be welcome.
Thanks all!

Not sure to be honest at this point. I'm still looking into it.
I can get a good aftermarket set off of ebay for about $50 bucks. I read the thread in the DIY section that talks about hooking them up so that they function properly (the fog lights go off when the high beams come on, the switch in the interior only lights up when the fog lights are on, etc.)
I am open to any suggestions as far as where to get a factory OEM set though. I am willing to pay a bit more so that they function properly. I have not talked to my local Honda dealer, though I doubt they would still be able to get the set of lights considering they are about 12 years old at this point in time? I also have a "junkyard" here in Pittsburgh where I get some parts I need for my car, though that is on a part to part basis, and I doubt they would offer the complete kit that would be needed to do this install.
Like I said, I am open to suggestions as far as getting an OEM kit if it makes the install less of a pain. Thanks for the replies!

The fitment on an ebay ones won't be so great, but they'll work. Mine are ebay ones. I believe you can still get OEM ones from H and A accessories.
Buy Honda Civic Accessories - Exterior Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories, made by Honda for your Honda. < OEM fogs for $150

I assume when installing your non-OEM fog lights that you followed the thread regarding the install of the non-OEM fog lights in the DIY section of the forum? Did you run into any snags when coupling this with the factory Honda installation guide?

Most ebay ones are just knockoffs of OEM. You can find the instructions for installing the OEM ones at that link I posted before. If you follow the instructions about cutting the bumper cover etc, mounting them up, and plugging them into the connector under the hood, you'll be fine. As soon as you get to the wiring part, you'll have to go with my DIY because the harnesses are different. (ebay ones don't turn off when the high beams are on, but that doesn't matter so much.)

OK, I didn't realize that it was you who wrote the DIY regarding the wiring harnesses, but yes I did read that already. Thanks for posting that btw.
Thanks for your input with my question. Once I get my new bumper and lip spoiler for my civic and install my fog lights, I will have to post pictures up. Thanks for all your help hobo, it's appreciated!
