Default somethings not right......

i recently had a new motor put in my 93 civic si. i was told it was going to be a d16y8 with 60k, when i got there to pick up the car i checked the motor for its engine code. i saw a d16 but couldnt make out the rest cause it was dirty. i saw a 6 at the end and figured it was the one. once i left and stopped to fill up and checked out the motor again in the light, the block read "d16A6". Basically i paid $1500 for a mini-me engine with who knows what head on it and a block from the 80's. I know i got screwed on the price, but is there anything positivc that can come out of this? I've read that an A6 block with y8 or z6 head can actually be better then a stock combination. the motor runs good but i just cant deny the fact that i was misled. This guy's been doin work on my car for years and now this? any advice would be a big help. thanx.

[:@]well, i looked closer and noticed that it was a very rare "d16A" (need to stop smokin!) i've been researching for the last 2 hours and found out that its the same as a z6(what i had). They didnt use em too much in japan but it rides smooth and is responsive. plus my motor had over 160k when it blew and this one feels like a brand new motor. BY THE WAY BUDDY, THAT WAS INCLUDING LABOR!

ok "BUDDY", that sounds better, you forgot to include that in your original post. i would have just done it myself and saved half the cost.

I find it funny how an excuse not to swap your engine is that you smoke a lot. I understand not having the tools and whatnot, that is understandable.
But smoking a lot is not an excuse to not do your own work, ha.
