Timing Belt 2002 Honda Civic LX??? Please HELP
I have a 2002 Honda Civic LX 2-Door with 121,000 miles on it. Now I only had it since 113,000. I went to a few places while doing tune ups ect and I've gotten mixed answers so I want to see if I can get a REAL response here on this board.
I was told since I have a 2002 that I DON'T have to replace the Timing belt cause of a certain reason about stopping them or something? I have no idea. And then another place said that's BS that EVERY honda needs to replace the Timing belt no matter what year.
So this is my question, do I need to replace the Timing belt? I know this repair is like $600 at Tires plus. Any help would be much appreciative.

It's starting with the 2006 model, they went to a different engine that doesn't have one. You definitely need to replace yours. It's not as complicated to do as many other cars are; several people here report paying about $300 - $400 for parts and labor.

That is a lot better price then what I got. Would you know any good shops worldwide that do it cheaper like that? Would it be good if I bought the timing belt myself online and THEN took it somewhere to get it put on?
