my name is richard and i live in chattanooga, tn. i drive a 90 civic ex sedan w/ a 1.6L engine. a while back i installed a 95 d16z6 sohc vtech motor but i don't know how to hookup the vtech w/ out changing the wiring harness and computer. the engine runs great and has plenty of power but i'd like to have the vtech working. does anyone know how i can hook it up w/ out changing the harness and computer? thanks.

i had the same engine and some of the shops in your area may be able to run the wires to the ecu and solenoid to activate vtec. not sure about the computer. which one do you have. but a shop in maryland told me $80 to install. Hope that helps.

first off, its VTEC not VTECH. it stands for Variable valve Timing with Electronic Control. ok. now. the stock computer in your 90 civ wont activate the vtec. i believe that there is a harness you can buy from hasport that will plug into the stock harness and a 92-95 vtec ecu will hook right up. you'll still have to run a new wire to the vtec solenoid, but then the vtec will work to its full potential. good luck and welcome. sorry if this came off as rude at first.
