Default 02'Si (Canada) Deck Removal.

Hey all,

I just picked up an '02 Si, the Canadian version, and I was hoping some of you here could detail how I go about starting to remove the factory deck. I've tried researching a bit, but I'm reading different suggestions on how to go about it, so I thought I'd take a pic and let you look and tell me if you've done it before.

Here is what I have now:

Also, am I going to need any kind of adapter or anything if I take out the factory deck? I guess what I'm asking is will removing the factory deck cause problems with anything that might be "hooked in" through or with the deck? I know my dad's '06 Silverado needs an adapter for the airbag system if he takes the factory deck out...??

Thanks for the help!

PS - If anyone knows how to stop the DRL buzzing sound that happens when only one HL turns on instead of both, let me know. Thanks again.

You have to take out the center console, then under the climate control there is two 10mm bolts that have to be removed, then you should be able to pop out the climate control and stereo, to remove and replace the headunit, you will need an adapter most likely

When you say remove the center console, I'm assuming you are referring to the center console on the floor, right?

I popped out that lower middle piece with the power port, but I didn't see any way to get the deck out from there. I saw two bolts down low, but I'd need to take the center console out to really get at them. Is that what you were talking about?

Once I have undone the two bolts, does the whole climate/stereo piece just pull out, or does it need prying or tabs to be unclipped or anything?

Thanks again!
