96-00 speaker dimensions *pics with ruler*
Since my car is an EX Civic, it has a 3-speaker component system: a tweeter and a circular speaker on each of the front doors, and two dual-axis speakers on the back shelf. This post explains the kick panel and rear speakers. Permalink: http://code.google.com/p/civux/wiki/OEMSpeakers

The speakers in the kick panel are Honda part number EASA16P08B4. Their impedance is 4 Ohm and they are rated for 15W operation.
They have a diameter of 5.00 inches, but come in a 6.125 inch metal housing. They are 1.875 inches deep (the housing is 2.25 inches deep).
The bulkhead that holds the speakers is 5.875 inches tall, 5.25 inches wide, and 2.00 inches deep. It has three mounting holes for screws at 0, 120, and 240 degrees (0 being the "12 o'clock" position).
The speaker cover has a 6.25 inch diameter.
Their electrical connection is a plastic jack/plug set.

The rear speakers are Honda part number EASA23D01B1. Their impedance is 4 Ohm and they are rated for 15W operation.
They have an ellipsoid shape: the longer axis is 8.125 inches and the shorter axis is 5.375 inches. They are 2.75 inches deep. The metal housing is 9.125 inches by 6.375 inches, and 2.875 inches deep.
The hole in the rear shelf measures 8.625 inches by 5.875 inches.
Their electrical connection is the same plastic jack/plug set as in the kick panel speakers above.[/ul]
