Default 96 stock civic stock radio.....no sound

Hey guys,

Noob here at civic forums. You guys have a great site. I I have a probem with my new 96 civic. I bought it bone stock and the radio didnt work. The head unit powers on and lights up but emits no sound from any speakers not even a buzzing or crackling. Is there a fuse issue or is the radios built in amp blown . I dunno . Any help is appreciatd thanks.

Things like this are really impossible to tell
Take it out, check the wires, check the fuses, check all you can, including to see if the wire colors are right
if so, then probably have a bad internal amp

First check whether the door and rear speakers have been disconnected or removed. Next check whether the rear radio connectors are loose.

doesnt sound like a blown fuse at all. i would check to see if the speakers are stock. if they are you most likely have a bad radio or 4 blown speakers. if they are aftermaket speakers then you most likely have a grounded out speaker which basically means that one of your speaker leads is touching metal somewhere

Not uncommon at all for all 4 of the stock speakers to go dead. Then it's time to sell the car...
