Default Amps with speaker level inputs

Amps with speaker level inputs suck in general, right? I don't want to get rid of the in dash 6 disk changer in our neon but I'd like to get some bump.

no not at all...
most amplifiers have that ability.... it just converts the speakers highlevel into a low level rca signal... preaty much the same as buying a high level adaptor to change your speaker wires into rca outputs....

main thing thats making them suck is your stock headunit not the amplifier!

I will agree. Most aftermarket head units put out a stronger signal through their RCA outputs, that helps your amp a ton. For example, my Alpine unit was one of the few I have seen that has a 4volt preamp output, most have a 2, some even a 1.

The stronger the signal, the better the sound in general.

They do however sell those converters, like addict said, that will convert your speaker level sound into a RCA output, and some even have signal strengtheners or what not, to help boost those factory outputs.

Here's a Link to a cheap one at crutchfield.

Here'sa Linkto one thats for single amp output, might be a little better overall construction.
