Help I cant get the console off my 98 civic
So I followed all the instructions found on installdr.com
and when I get to the process off actually removing the console out the bottom half of the console seems ready to slide out however the top half will not budge...
So I looked around the side through the glove box and it looks like the top half maybe screwed in...
does anyone have any experience removing the console from a 98 civic??

RE: Help I cant get the console off my 98 civic
After you pull down the glove box, after you drop the under dash on the drivers side, the entire panal under the radio comes out by removing the screws on the outside edges. A couple are hard to see, get down and LOOK. With a short screw driver, get the ones up by the cig. lighter. This panal will then pop off. NOW the next 2 screws are the pains. look under the radio, one is more towards the passenger side, the other is kind of in the middle. These screws don't need to come ALL the way out. but loosen them good. The radio will then slide out.

I removed 4 brass colored screwed from the metal bracket around the console but it wont slide out...the top half is still stuck i think the guy who said that theres screws behind the defrost and hazards might be on to something cuz this area seems screwed in (wont slide out)
Im ready to give up and take it to a professional cuz I want my new deck in now hahahah thanks tho guys

most likely whats catching is the wire harness... on my 99 the harness was holding my radio console in. look under the dash behind the lighter plug location and look for a bunch of wires that are tied to the left brace. just use a knife and just cut the wire tie and you should have enough wire travel to pull the radio console out.
