My uncle left some Polk SR6500 components in his Toyota truck when he sold it. I would have gladly swapped some 6.5s that I had laying around for those!

Since I have managed to hijack the Op's thread, how good is that Polk Audio PA 1100.5 amp? I am going to need another 5 channel amp to recommend to my friends when the 25 to Life Power 1000 is no longer available. Thus far, that is the only amp that comes close in terms of printed specs, but I have not seen or heard one in real life yet, so I may need to experiment with my girlfriend's Mazda Tribute (lol).

Thus far when someone wants a one amp solution I tell them to look into the 25 to Life Power 1000 or the Memphis Belle. Plus, at $450 to $500 online, that Power 1000 is hard to beat for the price! Thus far, everyone has been satisfied with those two recommendations, although one friend went against my advice and purchased the Alpine PDX-5. He hated it and ended up going to the local Memphis dealer to purchase a Belle the DAY he installed the PDX-5!

Other than that, I always end up recommending Sundown amplifiers for someone who wants to go with multiple amps and I have yet to have one disappointed person.

Talk up internet brands if you want but there is nothing at all wrong with JL Audio. I could smash on MMATS and Image Dynamics setups with my old W7 setup and I was slapping that itch with 1800 rms from a JBL Crown 2200 and putting up over 145db's on a termlab mic in a closed trunk big body car. That was with 1 12.

I would like to add though, you don't have to have the best stuff out there for your setup to sound good. You many be into competitions and having top of the line stuff but not everybody is.
I have a Sony headunit, Sony 6.5" speakers all the way around, some Pyramid 2" tweeters, 2 MA Audio 10" Subs, a Sony 1000W amp, and a 3 farad legacy capacitor, and sound deadened underbody, wheelwells, and trunk lid, and it sounds pretty good IMO. I don't have a bunch of money to spend on car audio and this whole setup cost me about $600. I am satisfied.

i never said u have to have the best. hell i dont have near the best, thats not my point here at all... the last poster who said his db score was 145 is a nut job. im not insulting u when i say this... but im not sure if u quite understand the claim he just made when he said 145db with a single 12" jl w7. like honest to god.. how can i compare this. thats like saying your stock civic lx sedan went 190mph, its just not possible

I know Marty well enough to believe that he wouldn't lie about something to make a point in a thread he doesn't really care about, or to make a point at all.
