No I'm not mistaken but your right I didn't hit 145, it was actually 144.8 and it was in a 3 cu ft box tuned to 40hz and I drew that score at 43hz. I myself hated it setup like this so I ended up going to a 2.2 cu ft box tuned to 26hz for sq. In a 84 cadillac sedan deville. I ended up breaking the seal on the bottom half of the windsheild and it started slapping the front part of my dash. Old pile of **** car, I know....oh well. In the end I ended up pulling power back to buy selling the jbl crown and running a PG Tantrum 1200.1. Then I got old and hated the system beating the **** out of me so I sold it all(for more than I had in it)

And to answer the thread starters questions, 2 12 inch type r's will murder the single type x's output and sound damn good on the sq end of it. I'd go 2 Type R's with a older mtx 81000d or a jbl bp1200.1. Put the subs in a sealed box with about 1.50 cu ft per sub. It will be clean and tight while still getting decently loud.

I'd like to also suggest a pair of RE SE12's, they handle a lil more power than the Alpines but are honestly better subs IMO

no I threw 40hz in there because I figured it would be a good place to burp the sub at. I thought that maybe the sq would be livable but it wasn't to me.

145 is very posible.... remember the old termlabs where reading louder than the new termlabs.
my favorite setup so far was my old 2 15inch REaudio SX tuned 34hz pushed with a orion 2500D unfortunatly i never got a true reading on the setup.... highest i got on the meter was a solid 140.db new termlab with the port breaking loose at the rear and my cd broke literly 30seconds before my time to compete so i had to compete off the radio at what ever song was on at that time
wish i still had that setup. and wish i still had my old XXX 18inch sub with same amplifier. that sucker was loud and i loved them both!
