just purchased an 05ex and wanted to upgrade the radio, but through searching the world wide web i found you still need to have stock radio connected so i don't lose the function of keyless entry and domelight. i saw some people putting it near their shifter, but i don't have a space there because thats where my cup holders are. where else is there room to hide this radio? and if anyone has pictures of this that would be even better. Thanks

u only have to hide the radio in a 98 or older bro...honda relized it was a stupid idea and starting changing it in 99

Definitely not. I also have a 7th Gen (2002), have replaced the stock head unit, and keyless functionality is still fine.

Only 98 and older.

 

and the dome light still works? why have i found that this was a problem with our gen as well???

 

Someone is just misinformed.
Honda stopped using the keyless entry in the radio with the 1998 model.
You will be fine.

 

i have a 99 civic and replace my stock radio. keyless entry and dome light still functions. pretty sure they fixed the problem starting in '99 models
