home made box
ok so i got 2 12's and i wanna make my own box. mainly because i can and its a lot cheaper that way. but i really don't know wat i'm doin to be honest. i can build the box, sure, but how do i make it sound good? do i port? do i seal it up? do i seal it up then port it? also, how big to i need this to be in order to let the speakers breathe? i've made one in the past but it sounded like *** so i figure id get some advice this time around. thanks.
i just have some cheap *** sony 12's from walmart.... i don't expect them to sound amazing or rattle my car apart, but my original box made them sound like ****..... but the box i built was just kinda designed for the car, so i have no clue if the volume was even close. and it was enclosed on all sides except for the bottom, wasn't really sealed, and had car capet on it.... im just doin my research to make sure my next box is right.
