I have to agree with Best Buy's salesmen, they suck azz. I mean every time I am in there, I find myself providing customers with more information about a product then the people they employ to do so. The other day, I got some new phones there, still not sure why, but I was in a hurry. A lady was there asking about a camera and no one was telling her half of the right information, so I started asking her a question or two, ended up selling her somthing that was more then perfect for her needs, and half the price of the one the salesman was pushing. Now I realize that people are going to hit older people, and sometimes women for all they've got, but at least they could know the product they are selling, instead of providing all this false information.

I would have just let him screw her if he knew what he was talking about, but instead, I took his sale, and made him look ignorant, and it was fun :-)

Just goes to show ya, most of these guys are in college, some in high school, most thinking about what they want to do this weekend, and not really about the customer. I am positive that some of their installers are probably half-azzing it too. I would ask to watch every second of an install if it was in one of my vehicles, i don't care what their regulations say!

tru dat. i wouldnt trust best buy or circuit city with my chit. i opted to install my own very first system even tho i had no idea how to do it. AMAZING learning experience. i think that no matter what you're better off doing the install yourself. because you learn how to do it.. the best way to learn how.. and if somethin goes wrong with your system later.. you have a head start on troubleshooting because you have a good understanding of how it all works. not to mention its way cheaper. ha

o ya... forgot to say.... personaly if i would take my car in for work... id take your registration outta the car and if ya can be thier when they instal it...

cause ive heard of a few people that had thier cars stolen with no damage or triggering of thier alarms that they know of shortly after they had it into a shop....

cause lets face it... they got your keys.... all they got to do is hand off your keys and have someone go make a copy..... or even a playdo mold of your key and they can simply cut a blank key and then look at your registration and see exactly where you live.....

thats probably the main reason i always instal my own stuff.... the fewer people that touch my keys the safer my car is

well they dont have to uninstal anything...
they do alarms and im sure have pleanty of alarm remotes layen around... alls they gotta do is add thier alarm remote and then thier remote control will disarm your system...
or they could just take off the shock sensor or trunk pin switch wire...
o ya they also have your garage door opener... so they got your garage code also

you can easily steal everything outta the trunk without seting off a car alarm...
if you have a keyless trunk entry handle... if you can keep it locked... or disconet it......
hell with entry inside the car they can get to the trunk.... thats one thing i love about my 99 civic... is my back seats lock and trunk locks as well.... that way people realy cannt get to my subs and amps... tho my radio isnt straped down YET but it will be tuesday... im gonna pull my radio again and adjust the mounting holes alittle more to get the unit instaled flush with the trim ring.... i got it almost flush but not completly.
if your radios just caged onto the car... you realy need to bolt it to the car...
along with all your equipment to be bolted to the vehicle... and bolted NOT WITH philips screws!!!!! cause philips screws are the standard... any any thief just needs a cordless screw driver
no with bolts those are harder to remove quickly... cause thiers different sizes... and also threads.... i sugest using fine thread bolts and use two different sizes....

tho it takes you twice as long to instal or remove yourself... think about it... you know how its bolte down... if the theif doesnt.. it will take him at LEAST twice as long to steal your equipment!

and if your runnen good subs.... screw them secure also.... thiers two ways.... get soem Tnuts and drill and drive them into the box in the rear... and then use some allen bolts to secure the sub to the box...
or get some security screws... which use two small holes on the screws head which uses the special 2 points on a driver bit.... instead of philips or flat screw heads...

they carry those at www.selectproducts.com
they have some realy nice stuff thier for stereos! check it out...
i need to order my security screws... im just to lazy and since my sub is mounted inside thecar behind the back seat im not to scared about theft..
