I need stereo help!
So I just recently bought an '07 Civic Si that has a factory-installed amp and sub in it (it's kind of hidden) and I was told that to be able to add my aftermarket sub and amp from my previous car, I have to connect it directly to the stock amp and sub somehow. Well here's the thing..I know NOTHING about installing stereo stuff.
Also, the aftermarket sub that I have is a 300W Rockford and my amp is a 350W Kenwood...not too powerful although I might try it in the new car to see how it sounds. My next question is if i were to get new speakers, sub, and amp...what are some good brands (and I don't mean good b/c everyone THINKS they're good) and also at a reasonable price. I was recommended from someone at Best Buy to look into Infinity subs and speakers and Kenwood amps. What do you think??
Last thing...is there anywhere around the Austin, Texas area that installs for a good price? I don't feel like going to Best Buy and having those guys that THINK they know what they're doing charge me an overpriced amount to plug in some wires...

Infinity Reference or Alpine Type S are great speakers on a budget so you're on the right track there. Forget about the Kenwood amp suggestion. If you are going to get all new gear, how about getting a4-5 channel alpine or infinity amp to run the fronts (maybe rears) and the sub for one nice clean install? For subs.......how much boom do you want to add to your zoom? Do you want to set car alarms off, or do you want clean bass to compliment (not overpower)the system? How thick is your wallet? Answers to these will get you better recommendations.
Well I don't want to set off car alarms...I'm a girly girl so I don't need people lookin at me like I'm some gangsta chick LOL...I just want some punch. I want it to be powerful enough to where a couple cars behind me can tell it's coming from my car, but I don't want to feel like I'm sitting in a vibrating chair (as great as that sounds ha)...
Thanks for the compliments too

Alpine FTW. Get a 4 channel 350W RMS amp to run a pair of 6"x9" 100W RMS and a pair of fronts (6" or 6.5" or whatever) that are like 75W RMS each. Then another Dual channel amp thats say 800W RMS and 2x 400W RMS 12" subs. That would be a sick system. Do the install your self. Its easy. Or at least give ita shot. If you stuff it, you can take it in then. For your current setup, simply:
With your sub and amp, run your power cable from the battery under your skirting to your amp in the boot. Run your RCAs from your head units rear/sub out to the boot also and your ACCs power from head unit to amp. Plug it all in, plug your sub into the amp and fire it up.
