I was wondering which types of subs to get. I'm know I'm going to get two twelve inch subs but I'm not sure which ones. My friend is selling me 2
jl 12w0's witha box for 75 bucks or should I stick with the infinity kappa perfect 12.1 for 180?

I was also wondering what kinda amp to get boost whichever type of sub. I'm not really looking for competition type of subs, I just want something to make my friends to scream when I crank up the volume. I was looking at Xplore amps cuz they're pretty cheap for a lot of power and whatnot.

 

ok, w0's are at the bottom of the jl audio food chain, if you want to make your friends scream, then those are proboly not it. Kappa perfects are pretty good. Btw crutchfiel over prices things try woofersect.com, i dont have any complaints about them and they are pretty cheap. ALSO dont cheap out on amps, youll be severely disappointed (meaning no xplore, sony,pioneer..ect.) my recomendation to you, 2- alpine type-r's and a crossfire vr600d or a jl 500/1 amp. Either of them are good amps and well worth your money.

A JL 500.1 amp is about the best money you will ever spend. If you run any type of 1 or 2 sub setup, there isn't much they cant do for you, and it's stable to 1.5 ohms. If you find a reputable E-bay store that backs their products with a warranty of some sort, you can score a 500/1 monoblock amp for around 300-350 bucks, and you won't regret it.

Next time I upgrade amps, I am buying the 1000/1, or moving up to competition level audio and getting an M/A audio class X 1800 and some subs suited to about 650watts each. MA audio is big around here on the competition circuit, and their baby brand, Vsonik, which a friend of mine competed with, isn't that shabby either for some raw window jarring bass.

I would suggest JL, or a percision power amp, I have used several percision power amps and they are pretty decent amps. Here is their version of the 500/1 below, they can be purchased from online stores or ebay.

I haven't used anything from their newest line, but I wouldn't be afraid to, and they are a little cheaper then JL.

I don't think I can stress how good the Infinity Perfect range of subs/speakers are for the money.

 

If you're looking for good amps, definitely either go with JL or Alpine. They're so worth the money it's not even funny. Their power ratings are extremely accurate. I have an Alpine mono amp 600w rms and 800w max that rocks a JL 13" w3v3 (rated at 500 but JL is known to underrate their products) Both of them are for sale right now cuz i wrecked by crx si so i have no use for them.Both are also brand new with original boxes. I seriously ran the whole system twice before i wrecked the car. Amp=350obo. and Sub=385obo. Let me know if you're interested!
