Default installing illuminite speakers

ok I just bought these speakers, for the rear, and I was just wondering about installing them.

1. do I have to disconnect the battery to install the speakers? I heard this, I'm just wondering
2. For the illuminite feature, where do I connect the wires to?
3. Thank you for your help, you are all awsome!

any other tips much appreciated

Are they the duals from wallmart? They aren't the best but they sound ok for the price. Anyways, just run the wires for the lights to a switch that's connected to your battery. You should put a fuse on the wire within about 12" of the battery. Or you could possibly wire it up to your headlight switch so they come on with your headlights. And it's always good to disconnect your battery when doing stuff electrical.

yes they are those ones, I know, walmart blah blah, but I'm not too picky, and they did sound good for how much they were when I was testing them there. can I connect the speaker light wire to any wire that is back there. there are alot of wires, mostly going to the back lights. and the manual sais that the negative has to be grounded, so do I just attach the negative wire to some metal part of the car? thanks for the reply, I've been just sitting here waiting pretty much.

also, these are the rear speakers, so 12' from the battery is kind of hard to do.

If you already have wires for accessory lights you just need to slice the speaker illumination wires into those. For the ground, a bolt that goes to the body would be good enough. If you just got a roll of wire that has 2 different pieces, like speaker wire, you could run that to the battery. Just make sure the wire is fused.

fused? umm, would running it to the battery be anything that is powered by the battery? because the battery is far away. I'll attach it to a wire I see I guess, and see if it works. thanks....

are there any diagrams or anything I can look at, online, pictures, ect. I can't seem to figure this out. I bought an adapter/connecter deal with like 20 different wires coming off of it, all different colors, and the red is for 12v adapter, and there is also an illuminator/dimmer (whatever the dimmer is for I dont know) wire, but I can't seem to figure out how to attach the adapter to the stock wires/adapter. I'm so confused, and I'm getting really pissed off at this. bare with me, thanks again. please anyone who knows anything reply

I think you bought a radio harness. When do you want the light to turn on? if you want to turn it on with a switch, then you would have to take a wire all the way to the battery and put a fuse on it. If you just want it to turn on when the speakers turn on, you have to find a wire that turns on when the speakers turn on. You cant just put the wires on any wire you find back there.
And the black wire goes to the ground (a srew on a bare piece of metal)
Just an idea dont know if it will work, try connecting the red wire to one connection on the speaker, and the black wire to the other wire...........im not sure if that will work, if you dont think it sounds right DONT DO IT

What are you saying to do on your idea? Hook the illumination up to the wire that's for the speaker? If so it doesn't work lol.. I tried haha. There's a wiring write up on here somewhere let me find it.

Yeah thats what you have to do to wire it to the battery and have a switch to turn it on. You will need to take the red wire and attach that to the fuse, then to a switch (to turn it on or off), and then the wire keeps on going all the way to the battery. Then the black wire, you simply have to screw that intoany part of the car that has bare metal.
Another way to do the speakeer connection thing, is to switch the wires around. Connect the red wire to the other speaker wire, and the black wire to the other side. worth a shot.

well I have returned the speakers for now for some extra cash, but you dont need a switch for the light, I can have it come one when the car is just on, if I attach it to a wire back there that is always powered. I would not have run it all the way to the battery.
