Default keyless entry doesnt work

i have a 96 EX coupe, just installed a new deck, did not know that you have to keep the factory head unit to allow for the keyless entry and the dome light to keep working. is there any way to fix this problem without finding another factory unit. (and yes, i threw the factory unit away) i am looking for help
thanks

yea you'll need to get another head unit from a junk yard or ebay or something to get it working again

you could get an aftermarket keyeless entry system. you can get just the keyless systems for fairly cheap. probably not much more than finding another factory radio. or you could pay a little more and get a full alarm with keyless entry
