Arrow Need help with honda radio selection

Hi,

I wanted to install a radio in my 1999 Honda Civic LX 4Dr car. I located a sale on ebay. It's an OEM factory product model # 39100-S5P-A20ZA.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I was wondering if I can use this for my 1999 Civic? In addition, could someone explain why the unit has 2 sets of pins at the back and what are they used for?

My guess is that the first set of pins (20 pins on the left part of the image) is used directly with the civic harness. I don't understand the second set of pins (14 pins on the right part of the image).

I appreciate your help and efforts in this issue.

Thank You

The other plug is for the factory alarm / keyless entry system, as the radio contains the circuitry to receive commands from the remote. I think that you can leave it unplugged if the car does not have that system.

For the price of that unit with shipping you could buy a new low-end aftermarket radio that has more features, like line input to connect an ipod, etc. and the ability to play MP3 files.

I appreciate your help. This makes sense to add extra wiring adapter to the radio.

I had an aftermarket radio installed but was stolen. I wanted to get a factory radio in order to reduce the probability of break in again (It's unfortunate that I am willing to compromise quality and features over being robbed again). It costs more to replace the window glass than the cost of the radio.
