toally not true man. the only neon i've actually EVER seen with a transformer is this little radio neon and then cold cathodes. All my underbody kits didnt come with trasnformers and they can just be wired right into the 12V (with a fuse of course).

I think we could help you out more if u had some pics of the tube itself

 

na the cheap underbody kits dont have them BUT the decent or beter ones use seperate trasnformers like that....

thats how my first underbody kit had... just uses one wire to wrap around the whole car

those kits are usualy brighter than the trasnformers built into the tubes....
ive had quite a few kits in my dads

 

I had to just ground the grey wire and the light works.Thanks to HCF once again I would of thrown the neon away if it wasn't for you guys.Here is a pic of the neon I finally got in and when I get my turbo kit for my new motor it will look gook with the innercooler lighted up.

i woulda just used some cold cathodes to lite up your intercooler just seal the transformer and the bulbs and your golden they are alot smaller and easier to hide and i must say... even brighter than that neon.LOL

yea i think i get it. I've never seen an intercooler get lighted up; thats pretty dope. good luck with the boost
