got a few new things in for the car pc so figured i would update as i am bored on a sunday with nothing to do lol.

First off got a 9800 GT 1 GB graphics card for it since it will be removable and can be brought inside and used as a gaming PC. It wont stay in all the time just when i have it inside for gaming and such to keep down on heat and power consumption when in the car lol. Got a new screen cause mine seems to have quit working, 3 years wasnt bad for the last one. I might try to get it working again its just the touch part isnt working. Got a new WIFI adapter that runs everything including N and has little antenna things lol. Got a new OBD tool one that supports updating the firmware so it will be more useful. Got a new Sirius kit and PC adapter for better satellite radio. And lastly i finally got my tiny keyboard that is wireless and the size of a cell phone. Its the greatest thing ever lol, best thing for a car pc.

working on sanding down the bezel for the screen a little bit it has a few marks in it and such and figured i would repaint it while the screen was out.

Nice work. Looks really clean and compact.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there's a site for car PC resources: http://www.mp3car.com. Just about everything you can think of regarding car PCs and what's required to put them together is discussed there. I have nothing to do with the site: I've been researching a build for our 2008 Forester, but as I've adopted my wife's Civic, things have changed.

And yeah, you can do OSX solutions (most people do them with Mac Minis). Not as broad a selection of S/W choices, and the H/W will cost you more, but it's Apple, FWIW. I was looking at it simply because we run Macs in our house, and it's nice to have a homogenous network.

Very nice work. It would be fun to build one just to see what some of the geeks that I work with would think. Thanks for giving me another project to research and think about

nope really dont have anything laying around at this point sorry but its easy to build and do yourself.

As for the geek end of it i am always getting people asking me what i have in my car as they are just used to those cd players that you cant really do much on. I have built quite a few lately for people as i have been going to lots of shows and meets.

I havent done much else to mine lately just been too busy at work

my last setup was permanent and probably one of the best ideas out there because you wouldnt have known it was even a pc. This time i figured why not make it portable since i really dont drive the civic that much anymore and it can double as a portable gaming rig.

eh it was 400 or so i would say, it was about 1/2 as fast as this one lol but then again this one is pretty much pushing the limits due to heat and size
