New head unit wont fit!
I just installed my new pioneerDEH-P2000MP, and everything is wired correctly and works, but it will only go in half way. It seems as if the actual metal part of the frame wont let the stereo in. I dont know what to do, any help?
Make sure some of he wiring isnt all bundled up and jamming agaisnt the frame in the back. What you do is stick your hand up there and pull it down and at the same time pushing the radion in. Patienceee
Yeah I tried that, but whats going on is that the metal frame thats stock in the car seems too small compared to the new headunit, only by a few small fractions of an inch on all sides. Maybe Im just doing the wiring wrong though
yeah the one the radio sits in looking at my previous head unit it seems like there isnt another thing of metal that acts as a cage around the head unit it seems like its getting in the way can i remove it?
Just to clarify, you recieved a cage with your new head unit, and that is the one you are using, correct?
And it seems that the cage is preventing the headunit itself from sliding all the way back into the dash?
First off, are you sure you put the cage sleeve on the correct way?

Yes I did recieve a cage when I bought the unit, and it came already on so Im pretty sure I could put it on backwards. And the issue is just that when the head unit before mine was removed there still was a metal cage almost inside the car, but I think its a stock one. Can I take off the metal cage on mine and then use the one in the car now? Or do I have to take out the one that looks stock? Im new to this stuff, so Im going by best judgement when Im installing it.
Somestock radios actuallydo have a cage, that is why sometimes youneed 'keys' to get the radio out of the cage.
(Not sure about a 95 civic dx though) In the case of a stock cage most people just take the radio and cage out all in one.
If that is the case, removing it is usually done by removing a couple screws on each side.
Is there any way that you can get pictures up?
Did the car have the stock radio sitting in there before you started doing all this?
I remember your posting of the car (with the supra wing, by the way hope thats off)
Did that guy have anything in the car that you know of?
