Python 991 install in a 2000 EX

Python 991 install in a 2000 EX
Hey guys,
I have a quick question in regards to installing the Python 991 car alarm w/remote start in my 2000 EX. I called some local shops and got mixed messages. A few shop told me that I would need a transponder bypass and some say I don't. Which is correct?
I know that I need a transponder bypass for my 2004 EX and I have one for this car. Do I need to get one for the 2000 as well? I went on to DEI's website to check and the website states that I don't need a bypass.
So confused and any answers would help a lot.
