Default Rear speakers 95 Civic DX

So I just bought a 95 Civic and replaced the front speakers very easily, but the rear speakers are looking like my '96 Monte Carlo. If this is true, I will have to remove the rear seat, is this correct? If so, does anyone have a howto on doing such on my generation Civic?

No, the top grill part is held in by 3 bolts, and the speaker by four bolts. You get at them by laying your seat down and sticking your head in your trunk and looking up where the speaker is, and you'll see them. I don't remember the sizes they are, but you'll get it when you look. It is actually a very easy removal. Oh, and to get the speaker out remove the wiring clip to the speaker (oh, you did the front already - so just like that)

But there aren't grilles, its just the big flat peice behind the seats. Or is that what you're talking about?

The DX must be different than the LX or EX then. Mine's a 95 and it has bolt in grill/speaker covers. Sorry I couldn't help. Good luck.

I see from your link that yours is a coupe, I have sedans, so that must be another difference. Weird that it would change like that on something like speakers!
