yaeh just makin the mdf baffel would to the trick its simple to do.. probly about an hour job with the right tools

well i don't mind spendin the much money i'd save the money on my speakers anyway plus knowin me i'd screw it up since i've never done it before.. but those are them ??

Just dropped in to mention that I just put in a set of 6.5's in my car that are listing as being 2-1/16" deep (Clarion SRS1625), and they fit without any trimming or mods... I have a 98 SI, for the record...
Mind you, I doubt I could slide a piece of paper between the magnet and plastic... that's how close a fit it was... lol

No. Grab a small piece of MDF from the lumber yard, trace the outside of the speaker on the wood (once for each baffle) and mark the mounting holes, create another circle inside of the mounting holes (big enough so the speaker basket will drop through) and cut it out, mount the baffles like washers behindthe speaker ring, and replacethe trim. You can get different thickness MDF, based on how much room you'll need. Piece of cake install, should cost less than $10 and an hour of your time.

I bought a pair of sony xpold 6.5s and they fit perfect. The only problem i had was connecting the wires because there wasnt any slack to pull them out.
