Speaker Setup
Currently my setup is:
Front- 6.5" Alpine Type-S
Rear- 5.25" Infinity
HU- Pioneer P5900IB
i am possibly wanting to hook up a 4 channel amp and upgrade the front to some 6.5" component Infinities. I would also be adding a mono amp with a 12" Type-R.
I am questioning this setup just a little.
1) Would I have any issues with dimming/power? Even with a cap?
2) With the 4-channel amp would I amp the front and rear?? And how exactly do I wire the speakers? Do I take the speaker wires coming from the HU to the amp back to the speakers??
Right now my system as it sits is pretty freaking loud...would you guys personally upgrade to component in front with 1 sub or leave the speakers as they are with 2 subs?
I work at Best Buy, am quitting, and I'm trying to rape the discount before I get out of the hell hole. Money really isn't an issue.

When you amp front and rear you don't connect the HU speaker leads to anything. Run RCA cables from the HU front and rear RCA outputs to the amp. Run speaker wires from the amp to each speaker.
I suggest simply unplugging the stock harness at each speaker, leave it disconnected. Install new speaker wires from the speaker to the amp. Then the stock harness is still live from the HU built in amp so you can just reconnect it to the speakers should you want to go back to no amp later.
