the front speakers i want for my 97 civic ex 2 door coupe are alpine type r. the mounting depth for these are 2-5/16" and on the following link it says on my civic the mounting depth is 1.8". is that the depth of the stock speaker or the max that will fit, and ifs it is the max can you get like spacer things or cut something out of the way to allow these to fit. thanks in advance

I have a 98 LX but I belive they have about the same doors. When I put in some Rockford 6X5sI had to Dremel out the back to get them to fit. You may have to do the same. Someone of greater knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong.

 

what was the mounting depth of those rockfords

 

2.5" if I remember right.
