System Plans...
just want some comments on what you all think about my future system. i just got a bonus at work and my stock system is ok but i want some bump. my older brother advised the following setup:
Alpine CDA-9885 Head Unit
(2) Cerwin-Vega EXL 1200D mono amps (1200 watts per amp)
(2) Cerwin-Vega Stroker 12" subs (2000 watts per sub)
Optima Yellow Top Battery
he is offering all of this and is going to help me install it for less than 1K.

Alpine FTW man
i reccommend (2) Alpine MRP-M350 Mono Amps and then (2) 12" Alpine Type-R subs. The Yellow Top is definately a good idea though, i should look into one of them for myself....

For under 1K that sounds pretty sweet man.
Strokers were always the hype back in the day, I haven't heard them in a LONG time, but I know they are still making em. CV is a decent product, I have heard their bottom end stuff and it still performed pretty well for value.
I also love their home subs, they last forever.
The yellow top is a plus, I will buy one whenever I get around to it, they will last.
And the Alpine head is a plus also, I love Apline Heads, you will love them. I do have to suggest though, that you go up another 50 bucks or so and get the CDA-9857 with BBE. You will miss out on some serious sound enhancments if you get an alpine without it. I won't ever buy a regular Apline again, it's gotta say BBE on the face for me.
Thats totaly optional, and not to say the one you picked isn't an awesome unit. I just think the BBE is at least 75% better sound then normal, and it pumps some sound into your WMA and MP3 files, and helps Ipod and other players sound their best, despite the signal losses you sometimes get when running them.
I am pretty sure there is an Alpine about the price as the one you have picked that offers BBE, do some searching and see what you can find. Some do and some don't, and sometimes they are the same price, it's odd to say the least.
My only suggestion, the rest of it looks tight!
