It's easy. If your splicing into an existing wire, that you don't want to sever, just tear back some of the shielding, to expose bare wire, and solder you rnew wire onto it, finishing with some electrical tape or heat shrink if you can get it over the existing wire to the splice.
Or, cut the wire, use a butt connector sold just about anywhere to secure one end, and put your new wire, and the old existing wire in the opposite end, crimp both ends to make a seal.
