Upgrading system advice
I want to upgrade the stock audio system in my '04 civic sedan. Basically what components should I buy that would offer the best bang for my buck? I'm trying to achieve crisp, clean sounds listening to mainly hip hop and r&b. Which brand should I go for with the head unit and what brand of speakers (do I have to replace all 4 or just the front 2 speakers?) Also any opinions on a great sub that can be powered without buying a separate amp?

RE: Upgrading system advice
The answer is Infinity. Very clean sound. It is best you replace all 4 speakers in the car and not just the front 2. Try ebay and youll find some great deals on Infinity components. If you are looking for a sub that can be powered w/o a seperate amp, your best bet is the Infinity Basslink, but i would suggest just going with a single Infinity 10" and a small amp.

RE: Upgrading system advice
I just upgraded my system. I got a pioneer head unit, Kicker 6.5s in the front, stock rear speakers, & 300 watt MTX amp with a MTX 12" and I love it. Sounds Awesome!! You don't really have to replace your factory rears unless their just worn out, but I do recommend replacing the fronts because 6.5s can't handle as much power as the 6x9s (I'm assuming you have 6.5s in the front and 6x9s in the rear) so I would definitely upgrade them. As far as getting a sub without an amp, I think that's a bad idea. Subs need dedicated power to perform at their maximum so I would really recommend getting an amp if you get a sub.
