Default What does code mean?

Hello Everyone,

I just bought a 91 Civic.

I love this car, plan on doing alot of things to it.

It still has the original radio(tape player).

It won't play when I turn it on it says CODE

I guess you have to put in some code to turn it on.

Does any one know the default code or how to reset it?

I know this might be a long shot questions but it is worth a try.

Thanks in advance

Default Serial #?

Thanks Macbeth18288,

Do you mean the serial # from the radio or the car?

If the Car where is the serial #?

If the radio, do I have to take the whole radio out of the console to get the serial #?

The number you need is on the radio itself. You may be able to see it looking in from the sides, if not remove the radio. That is actually not very difficult. Remove the plastic trim (2 screws in the bottom, 2 in top, one of which is behind the glove compartment door). Unscrew the Philips screws on either side of the radio. Loosen the bolt(s) in the bottom of the back of the radio. Slide radio out and unplug it if necessary.
