Default Toyota Solara Detail

I received this car the other day while the owner was on vacation. She wanted everything done (and eventually wanted the headlights done as well). Anyway, after some LC pad issues, I eventually finished her up. The car hadn't been touched on the outside except for certain.....automated methods....in over 2 years so it needed some love. I'd say that other than the front end (which I couldn't do anything else with due to stone chips and such), I'd imagine that 99% of the scratches were removed. Onto the process.

Wash & dry
Clay bar with Meguiar's detailing clay and ONR as lubricant
Wash and dry again
Taped off
LC yellow flat foam pads with PC7424 and Menzerna Power Gloss
LC orange flat foam pad with PC7424 and Optimum hyper polish (love the combo with these two btw)
Headlights were done with 1000 > 2000 grit sand paper and compounded/polished
Tires were done with Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel (and it makes me hungry every time I smell it)
Interior done with some APC and Aerospace 303

I think that about covers it all....onto the pictures!

So you use the yellow pad first, then the orange? how aggressive is the yellow pad? I love your work, i am a bit of a buffer myself, and haven't quite been able to get rid of all the halogens and whatnots.

^^correct. The yellow is the most aggressive pad that lc offers. if you need pad/material selection, post up what you've got to work with and ill try to make a few recommendations.

I have a porter cable 7424xp, with a handful of orange pads, i am using Mcgwires 105 right now, and then waxing with zanios car polish.

I clay beforehand, polish, and then wax after that, and i still have the halogen effect.

so basically you are saying i need a yellow pad, and what should i use for the polish?
