Default APEXi S-AFC vs. S-AFC 2

What are the advantages of the SAFC 2 over the original SAFC? The price seems about the same and I am really looking into one, so i was wondering which one all of you would recommend.

The SAFC-2 is cheaper and better. Thats all you need to know. Get a SAFC-2, if you are serious about getting one.

the safc-1 you can only tuen the car every 500 rpm increments and the safc-2 you can change it down to every 200rpm

The 200RPM incraments are great also there are 12 points of change instead of like 9 on the first one. The 2 has a knock reading where 1 dosent. On the 2nd one you can be monoriting 4 different things at once instead of 3. the second one is easier to change due to the dile and easier to read. All in all there are alot of different things about it. I love my 2 over the 1 I had.

What car do you have. If you have vtec then it may be better for you to get a V-afc. Good luck

Or get this the new one i just found: http://www.apexi-usa.com/news_article.asp?id=15

'99 DX Non VTEC So the VAFC should be pointless. I dont think i would know how to tune using the O2 wideband gauge anyways, so if i did anything i'd get the SAFC 2 and have a shop with a Dyno tune that and my cam gear for me. Sound good to you guys?

sounds like a great plan. That is the easiest way and will be more accurate with out spending alot of hours in it. also on a dyno you can get hp and tq #'s and they only cost $115 or so for a tune. good luck

PS>yes the v-tec afc would be pointless at that point if you got the money get the new one (NEO) and let us know how you like it.

All of the afc have the cord coming out of the side. The older ones includding the II's the cord comes out more tord the bottom corner thougt. There are many different ways of mounting them. insetting it into your dash and so on.
