So, my check engine light randomly came on.... is this normal. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to my engine. Tried to install an intake the other day, which was for an SI, not a DX, thanks to the idiot that sold it to me... Anyone else ever get the CEL come on?

 

What year is the car? If its OBD1 you can pull the code yourself. If not bring it to Autozone and they'll pull it for free

 

it didnt happen to mine wen i installed my CAI but it did happen when i installed my race header... do you think autop zone could turn off my light for me? 2007 SI. thanks

 

Is your seconday o2 before or after the cat?

Was your AIT put back in/plugged back in?

well if ur cel comes on there is somethin the engine isnt programmed to like ex flashed ecu,headers,some intakes(cheap ones),exhaust.......
if ur cel comes on get it check out right away it can be as simple as u tripped a code putting ur intake on or as bad as really low oil or somethin newer cars especially are sensitive to cai we have a 07 civic si in my car club and he put a aem intake on his and flipped his cel on and autozone cleared it for him
