Default ECU Harness Install?

Irecently bought a98 civic with a 2000 B16A engine butit still has the original computer from the old engine. I now have the correct computer (P2T)for a 2000 b16A. I bought the OBD2a to OBD2b ECU Conversion Harness from Rywireand I got it in the mail on Friday. Tomorrow I am going to swap out the computers. I don't know much about computers and have never messed with them and I just want to make sure I am doing this right.

Basically, I disconnect the battery, of course. Unplug the old computer. Take the P2T computer with harness attached and simply plug it in. Connect battery. Turn key half way to reset computer 30 seconds. Then start car. DONE. If I am doing this wrong please tell me.
Also I was just curious ifthere are any advantages orshould I notice any performance gains bygoing with the correct computer.

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: ECU Harness Install?

You've pretty much got it. As long as the ecu is for that year/model engine and the wiring harness is correct, you should be golden. If that is the case, and you had the wrong computer before, and this is the right one....I would say you'd get some gains..
