Default ecu location

Can any one tell me where to find the ecu? what its fuction? anyone please. Im kinda new to all this but im learning by reading and serching. this is the only way i can learn. by the way its a honda 97dx d16y7.

The ecu is the engine control unit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_control_unit) which provides vital information to various sensors and systems for your car to operate correctly. It is located on the lower kick panel on the passenger side of your interior below your glove box.

There is a lot more information such as differences between OBD-0, OBD-I, and OBD-II ecu's as well if you're interested.
