Default How to obtain the best gas mileage?

I usually shift around 3rpm in every gear except when I go into 5th because I want a little more speed to get me going, but is that the best time to shift to get the best mpg?

Gas mileage is more dependent on throttle than rpm's. Shifting at 3k you should be fine unless you are pushing the throttle harder than you need to.

pull up good ol' google, enter "hypermiling" and you'll find a ton of sites with good advice from the common sense (light throttle, early shifts, check your tire pressure regularly, etc) to the unusual (custom-made undertray out of cloroplast for better aerodynamics) to the bizzare (complete body mods for better aero). those guys are as nuts about getting the best MPGs as the people on here are nuts about hondas!

just drive slow anddon't bog the motor down, and p.s. you drive a honda, it's not a huge difference in mileage like an f150 or anything.
