i have a 94 civic eg coupe and i cant even come close to redlining it at 7200rpm.. it only goes up to 6200rpm then my redline bounces ... what could i do to fix that problem... i've done everything i could to fix it but still it does the same thing.. i had a friend sayit might be my ecu cause i have a spoon chip in it but whwen i ran his ecu the p28 still does the same thing... could it be the wiring or something else.. if you can help hit me up that would be great...

 

what exactly did you try and do to fix the issue?

 

i tried reseting the ecu ... looking to see if my rpm connection line for the ecu plug is hooked up.. also my timing>>

 

I bet it's just that your tach isn't reading correctly.

 

my tach is reading perfectly fine.. my tach and my friends tach is the same ... my ecu redlines in his coupe at 7200rpm but when i put it in mines it goes up to 6200 rmp only... i can also still feel more power when my redline bounces... i dont even get my top end pwer.. by the time my v-tech opens at 5500 i'm getting ready to shift already at 6000-6200 rpm.... what could the problem be then..

j/p. is the ecu throwing any codes? Which trim level is your coupe? dx, ex? what's the engine code?

 

Take the spoon chip out...

 

i have another ecu on the side... its a p28 and its not chipped... still have the same problem.. and i dont even have a check engine light.... weird huh... no check engine light replaced an regular p28 ecu and still does the same thing.... i've worked my *** off on it.. hahaha..it not so funny when you can get burned by dx.... haha.. oh yea.. mines a 1.6 liter ex.... d16z6
