You need a tuneable ECU to change it. But it is 100% pointless to do so unless you've got a motor capable of making power up there

I dont' give two ****s how old you are, you're obvoiusly no smarter than some of the 16 year olds here.

in order to rev that high your gonna need a different cam, duel springs, titainium retainers, 3 angle or higher valve job, stronger connecting rods, some cylinder head reshaping, tunable ecu

+1 on that i am 16 and i know that there is a reason there is the limiter. not to mention if your son is anything like my brother he is gonna hit the limiter alot.

why would you want to rev that high if your not going to make any power up there?? just so your son can say he can rev that high or what? while hes redlining at 8500 other civics will be flying past him because they were smart enough to shift with the curve...

it just doesnt make sense

Thanks for the practical advise but I think I'm old enough to know what I want.
PM me in case you want to know how old I am. As a clue, I'm restoring this car that will soon be turned over to my teen age son.

Given your inputs, time toput my blueprinting skills to useagain.
Is there any other option besides the Crome EU ? -Thanks Soviet.
Any decent engine management will work.

What don't you understand? A stock cam does not make power past 6800. I don't care if you can feel it or not, you're how old and still using a butt dyno? Put that car on a dyno and watch the HP graph peak at 6800-7000 and then taper off. Don't believe me, whatever, I've seen more Dseries dyno graphs than I have large breasted women.

You want to build a Dseries that's going to run to 10,000... well you're going to do something that has never been done before. The stock valve springs and the stock retainers cannot hold more than 7500, the stock rod bolts don't stand a chance, the stock rods don't stand a chance, your piston speeds will be stupid fast... blah blah blah.

You want that engine to rev to 10K, expect to pay just that to build it.

Thanks again for the tips SovXietday . . . . I like the wayyou explained it and I absolutely agree. I've modified Toyota's3K/4K, 2Ts,18Rsand Mitsubishi's 4G51engines to become high-performance NAs.These were theday's of twinside carburators.I'm happy to note that none of my modified enginesblew out.Except fortwo incidence ofblown gaskets. My most radical modification was using a Toyota piston for a Mitsubishi engine. I'm that confident in being able topower-up and strengthen engine internals. And yes, I will be a valued customer of high precision machine shops.

Itwill bemy first time to modify a Honda and an EFI at that.It is only the ECU that I'm trying to figure out here, but I'mlearning a lot of technical details from this site. Kudos to guys like you.

As to why I will spend money for a 1500cc - I love being an underdog and my son will learn a lot from this modification experience.

After this posting, I will have to shy awayin orderto allow the wisecracks to take over. So my apologies if I will not be able to reply any longer.

Thanks for the tips again.

wow, props on attempting something new then... if you got the money and the will to do it then by all means go ahead

this would be a sweet build to watch progress if you do in the end decide to attempt it

There is not even a aftermarket cam that will make power that high. I know I have pushed that exact engine to it's limits and seen very very detailed all motor builds with it.
