the ecu won't work at all. You'll need to get the ecu for the engine you're swapping to (it comes with almost every complete swap package).

Yeah, the stock harness would work, all you need is to add an extra wire

"Notice the markings on the ECU; they read xxx-p72-xxx, which is the appropriate ECU for a B18c swap. Since the civic already had vtec, the only wires that needed to be added were at D3 for the knock sensor and A17 for IAB. The pinout for the IAB can be switched from A20." from http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b18cswap/swap4.php

Also remember that you need to change the motor mounts and axles as well.

the ecu won't work at all.
Believe it or not, that isn't 100% true. You can run a DOHC VTEC motor with a SOHC VTEC ECU. You'll just be stuck with the lower rev limiter. And the fuel maps won't be perfect but the ECU will compensate (that's what your primary O2 sensor is for!)

You have to swap axles because you are swapping transmissions. You also need a shift linkage and mounts, and you will probably need to modify your stock engine harness. The details will vary depending on what engine/year you get. There is a TON of info on this subject out there on the internet.

Also since you have the p28 ecu on your car, you can chip it, allowing you change the fuel maps.
