Default V-TEC range....

I just installed a Buddy Club V-CON. When I bring the vtec down to 4200 it maxes out at 5500 and acks like the rev limiter is kicking in. I have it tuned now where it kicks in at about 4500-4700 and ride to redline.
Is lowering the vtec kick in supposed to lower your redline or rev limiter?

Nah, but honestly dont mess with the VTEC. Unless uve got a monster mods page its going to give you more trouble than its worth. Vtec kicks in @ 4400 I believe. Even with a lot of bolt ons, lowering the setting is just going to cause you problems. Your ECU has proper VTEC fuel maps, and it adds the perfect amount of fuel when the vtec kicks in at the factory set rpm. The device you are using may have a rev limiter on it, and u may have just accidently set that.....but personally id ditch the controller.......there are several boosted members on this site (myself being one of em) and we dont have vtec controllers.......save the cash and the headaces.....get rid of it.

Yeah. There's a damn good reason they set it where they do.

It's acting like a rev limiter because your fuel and ignition maps are all wrong for the larger cam profile. If you change vtec engagement, you need to be able to change other parameters as well. If you need a larger cam profile, get a bigger cam. It would probably be cheaper than your vtec controller.
