Default VTEC troubles

So i'm driving last night and when the VTEC should kick in, all i got was spuddering and it wouldn't rev any higher. Is there a fuse for the VTEC system? I tried to look in my Chilton manual, but they had nothing for the VTEC system at all. So any ideas or advice would be great!!!

Im new here, but I registered simply to get on this thread, im having similar symptoms with my civic ex. Like the dam things got a cold, vtec works fine one moment but the idle is screwy and starts poorly, drive it home shut it off restart and it will start better, but have no vtec it gets to vtec point and sputters. Im told this is because of an ecu? Anybody else have something like this? im running an all motor setup. Could the stock ecu be unable to handle the motors parameters now?

im not a expert at this or anything, but could it be when adding somthing new you didn't reset your ecu and thats making the v-tec screwy?

Are there any check engine codes showing up on yr car? mines showing three P0113 Intake air temperature circuit low input, p1508 Idle speed control system low, and p1259 Vtec system malfunction in the rear bank? Anyone know what causes these codes? i thought my ecu was bad because im running a built motor. Yes to the other new guys sinquiry i did reset the ecu after the mods were done. no difference.

you may want to check your filters, if you have an intake system that may be your low speed sensor problem and with the air sensor, also inside your engine deep with the beast where the vtec originates there lies a filter for the vtec, you may want to check that and replace it, anyways good luck with solving the issue if u havent solved it already.
