what kind of chip or ecu tuning should i do

Default what kind of chip or ecu tuning should i do

i have a 99 civic ex with i/h/e pulleys stage 1 cam shaft and cam gear and skunk2 retainers and springs, and i wanted to chip the ecu what is the best type i should do with those mods i dont plan to go turbo r anything, so is it worth it or not and how much would it cost

well you can't mess with obd2 ecu's, so you'll need to chip a obd1 ecu, so it will allow you to "tune"

Unless you plan on boosting with an SC, Turbo or Nitrous, chipping your ECU isn't going to be worth the cost for an IHE/Cams modded vehicle.

Yep. Ok well since he wants to know how much it'll cost.

Virgin P28 = 100-150 depending on where you look to find one.
www.moates.net chipping kit = (I wanna say) around15+ shipping.
soldering gun = GET A LOW HEAT GUN, 20-40 bucks.

Roughly 230-250 for the whole setup that you won't be using except maybe for datalogging.

^ and with that said, I strongly suggest finding someone local who has done it and then leeching off this persons knowledge until their brain is dry.

can i buy a p28 already chipped cuz i dont wanna mess anything up

Yes, I believe Moates sells pre-chipped P28s.
