A word on ebay chips.

In case you don't know what that is, that's a wideband o2 sensor telling me my car is pig-rich. For all I know it could be lower than that because I think my gauge only goes to 10:1 and it stayed pegged on there. I think I probably had gas dripping out of my muffler.
Anyway, this kind of thing is called "blind tuning" and used to acctually be accepted. A company would "guess" on air/fuel maps according to your mods and this is the kind of crap you would get. According to the g-tech I did actually gain ~ 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile, but I lost over 10 mpg. The HP gain is probably more due to the cooling effect the extra fuel has on the intake charge than to the "tuning."
Bottom line is, you can get some cheap HP out of this if you happen to have a socketed ECU with an on/off switch and no intention of doing your own tuning, but you could probably get better results for cheaper with and adj FPR and a bump in timing.
Just don't. I want my 20 bucks back.
yeah im still working out things on my car as far as air/fuel ratios right now every now and then my car will drop down to the 10.0 on the aem wideband as well... need to hit up the dyno soon im hoping
